Second chances,
They don’t come around everyday.
Yet here we are.
A chance to reset.
A chance to do the opposite of going back to normal.
What exactly was normal about normal anyway?
Was spending your life travelling like a sardine normal?
Squeezed into tunnels and catapulted through cloud?
Were we hypnotised by the lights turning from green to red and back again?
Or intoxicated by the great smog that lorded over our cities?
Let me ask you this, was it normality that made the air unfit to breathe?
Or regularity that poisoned our oceans?
Were the wildfires normal?
Or did they just become the norm along with the greed and inequality?
Where was the sanity, let alone the normality?
Well I am here to tell you that change is here.
So grab it with both hands, and hold on with everything you got.
Because we the lucky ones have all got a second chance.
And they don’t come around everyday.
